#Janus Versions
17 messages in this thread
My 2286 BridgeBoard frequently hangs up while booting. It appears that this
happens after it executes CONFIG.SYS and before AUTOEXEC.BAT. It does this
often enough that I made a special batch file to reboot it repeatedly until
it works.
Could my old software have something to do with it? I have:
Janus Handler Version 2.63
Janus Library Version 33.1 I don't know where to go for an
update.
What kind of machine do you have your Bridgeboard on, also are you running
2.0 or 1.3 and do you have a Pseudo-drive on your AmigaSide.
Greg
Amiga 3000, Workbench 2.04, no pseudo-drives.
Do you have enforcer running? You need to run Enforcer quiet to ensure
proper operation of the Bridgeboard.
Add the following line before binddrivers in you startup sequence.
run enforcer >nil: quiet
make sure that enforcer is in your path, I keep it in sys:tools.
Let me know if this helps.
Greg
Hey Greg, if you have time to get on here things must be real quiet! 🙂

Well, we are between projects. Although things will heat up soon I think.

Michael,
I have the same problem with my A2286. Actually right now the 5 1/4 drive
is running now sinc two day`s. The BB is not booting from C:\ and I also
can`t reset the PC with "Ctrl – Alt – Del" as usual. So pls what kind of
batch you use to get the thing working ????
My Janus Handler is V.36.85 and Lib. is V.36.83 which comes with the BB.
– Horst – all the way from northern Germany BY AUTOPILOT !!!!
On the PC side, AUTOEXEC.BAT ends with AWRITE PCBOOTED ENV:PCBOOTED Then on
the Amiga side, I have a batch file (running under CSH, not EXECUTE) as
follows: if -f env:pcbooted
del env:pcbooted endif lab START echo Rebooting PC … PCHard sleep 50 if
-nf env:pcbooted
echo PC took too long!
goto START endif echo PC booted! This just keeps rebooting the BridgeBoard
until it finally works. You would have to re-write this if you don't have
CSH.
Michael
Do you have anything unusual in your CONFIG.SYS or AUTOEXEC.BAT?
Does it always correct itself when you reboot? Also, do you have an
accelerated Amiga or extra memory?

There is a certain PROBABILITY that it will boot correctly each time. I
don't have a number to put on that. I have a batch file that reboots the
BridgeBoard repeatedly until it works. I am running nothing unusual. I have
a 25 MHz A3000 with 4 MB fast and 2 MB chip.
Michael,
Do you have ENFORCER QUIET or CPU NODATACACHE in your startup-sequence?
(Before BINDDRIVERS.) You need it with an accelerated machine.

Marion, did you get my last comments on Janus 2.1 (or my address change?)
Ron
Ron…
Yes, thanks. Did you get the current CROSSINGS at the new address?
