Kevin, Kevin. I am starting a newsletter. Want to do a column? It will be a weekly progress report, with bits about the people involved and a place to put lists of proposals, plus a cartoon or two… There can be a number of contributing editors. I would also like to call on David Gould to write and "Alternate World" progress column. It's raining and flooding in L.A. Sanford. "Studio City Newsletter" is the tentative title…Should we create a name contest for the paper? Anybody else who would like to contribute content or images please let me know. I intend to make the newsletter short, weekly (come out Monday?) each week…Suggestions welcome.

Hey Sanford, I like your idea of a newsletter. BTW I think you meant to post this to Kevin. Or did I post to you to begin with. <g> Anyway you might want to repost to him in case he's just picking up his own mail. John

John, I will repost to Kevin if he doesn't reply. You also could submit something to the newsletter. Any ideas? Sanford

Sanford, He replied to me… about my suggestion to you to repost. Apparently he got it. I'm not sure at this point what I'd submit for the newsletter, you guys are on top of the details. I suppose I could write about this communication center and the people contributing to it, what they're working on etc. I'm open to suggestions. John

John, Communication….that is the philosophical heart of this project. Write about that. Could be a nice editorial? Sanford

Sanford, >> Communication… that is the philosophical heart of this project. << Interesting idea, I'll have to think about what way best to approach it. What's your target date, for proofing etc? Maybe the column heading could be Radio Free SC2K. <g> John

John, Target date for the first Newsletter?.,..perhaps Jan 30…I thought it would be long enough to get things organized and assembled. Let me know if you can have something ready by the 27th or 28th so I can put the pieces together. Radio Free…sounds OK Sanford

Sanford, The 27/28th is fine. I'll write on the building of the new SCCC and merge that in with the idea of communications as a whole. It would be helpful to know what the gist of the rest of the Newsletter will entail. I've been following an Orwellian concept of a city in the future, Blade Runner like. Is that still the world we're creating, or has it changed? Its important to the content of the column. Thanks, John

John, Blade Runner….a very apt description in spirit, with a dash of Utopia, and Trogs thrown in. So far, the Newsletter will have a front page like a newspaper with headlines, and part of a column to start each of our sections. Mine will cover the nuts and bolts of city building, plus a list of what has already been done, and what should/could/might be done next. Additionally I will talk about the Siggraph tape and the handing out of land after the city plan is approved. General city business news. I don't know who else will contribute for sure, but I hope to have at least four or five contributors on different subjects when the newsletter gets going. I want to also list some subjects people might address in "Letters to the Editor." Perhaps, also a list of all city related files in the TAKE5 library might be helpful. I look forward to your writing. Sanford
