We did a demo of Virtual BookMaker at the McDonnel Douglas Computer
Show in Saint Louis today. We had all the photos on a Photo CD disc
made into prints from negatives by CPI Photo Finish.
In every case the image on the monitor was better than the print made
by CPI. More detail, better color balance, better color range.
Needless to say, the crowds loved Photo CD. Everyone was amazed that
the Photo CD scan was better than an original print and they weren't
looking at a retouched image on the screen.
We had one photo where a flag was flying on a building about 6 blocks
away. On the 4 by 5 CPI print you could barely make it out. Zooming
in to 2048 x 3072 on the PC, you could count the stars!
The voice-over narrations, background music, and the ability to insert
text into your sequences were a big hit. Isn't technology great!
