I'm looking for a term to describe a person who fills a certain role in television. I'd appreciate any suggestions. What do you call someone who does the following: – Comes up with ideas for independent TV programs — series or one-shot – Puts together a team to sell the idea to sponsors and produce show – Buys the time on a local station or cable network to run the show – Sells the ad spots – Retains ownership of the show or series for other uses The key difference between what this person would do and a "normal" producer is that he actually buys the time and handles everything the broadcaster would normally handle. Is there some common term for a person such as this? Thanks. David

David, I can't answer your question, but I've been working closely with someone for the last several months who really fits the description! Glad you asked. 8^) Nate Wahl Emerald Video
