Steve, I just responded to your message to Mark Chambers about your
rotoscoping problem. My response was for you to call Diaquest. In any event
it was a cable problem. Unfortunately for both of us, the only common
pieces of hardware we have are the Targa and the Diaquest controller. We
have a Sony Betacam and a Sony U-Matic VTR. How are you rotoscoping? Are
you capturing each video frame as you render, ie capture one frame of
video, use it as texture map, render and lay off to tape, all from the same
VTR? I haven't attempted to do single deck rotoscoping since I have 2 decks
to do it.

Yann, My rotoscoping technique; I am using a Sony Betacam BVW-40, a
Targa+64 and the Diaquest. I am using a single machine to frame grab the
image, QFX it, then take the background FLI and combine the rotoscoped image
over the FLI file. This gets recorded onto the BVW-40 after the section of
tape that has the image(s) on it , in this case the runner.
The tape is preblacked in non-standard, then I edited (inserted), the
runner section onto this tape, so there are no crash edits points, the
VTR setin points are a few seconds after the runner sequence.
Video post executes all the batch files just fine, but I get intermittent
feedback frames within this 380 frame animation.
I ran a test tonight without using the QFX batch file processing, and also
I have created another batch file called TMODE.BAT which consists of:
<tmode 11>
<targedit rgb 0 genlock 1>
hopefully this will keep the Targa+64 from going "live" this batch file runs
out of video post just before the <copycom digitize>.
I am interested in the CABELING PROLBEM can you be more explicit.

Steve, it sounds like you may have solved the problem.
In regards to the cabling problem, I am afraid I can't be more specific
because I wasn't around when it got fixed, one of the other guys here
figured it out and unfortunately he doesn't remember what cables he pulled
or redirected. The back of our "Render Pig" is a big mess of spaghetti. It
would be way to hard to describe it.
