Hi, Are there any learned opinions out there concerning the Pro Audio Spectrum/Pro Audio Spectrum 16 versus Sounblaster/Soundblaster Pro in respect to their preformance? Are any major revisions upcoming? How well do they integrate Windows 3.1? Any comments welcome! Regards, John

the Pro Audio Spectrum 16 = 16-bit audio and it has a standard SCSI port is one advantage. Also the parent companies of the two products just settled a lawsuit so hopefully more resources can be left to R&D rather than lawyers. Everything I've heard most people think the Pro Audio Spectrum 16 is a winner hands down since it is completely Sound Blaster compatible + it has 16-bit stereo audio capability and a standard scsi port.

Albert, the SCSI port might just make the difference. Thank you for your opinion John

Albert, The gossip here has been that the soundblaster compatibility on the PAS-16 is less than perfect. No personal experience. Frank

Frank, I noticed that several people think that soundblaster pro compatibility is not so good. It is very useful to read all the messages in the forum too it keep my knowledge base up to date. Thanks for the update.

PAS-16 better digitized sound quality, bad game support. SBPro, sound is'nt great…, but much better game support. Forthcoming to a store near you (RSN): SBPro-16, with full 16 bit stereo digitized sound… I use a SBPro and am quite happy. I have heard the PAS-16 and it's ound is great, but the support is'nt their yet for games. -Clarke

Clarke, as I am not in a hurry, I might wait a bit and see what the SBPro-16 will give! Thank you, John
