Has anyone tried out Grolier's "new" cd-rom based encyclopedia, the one
featuring motion, animated sequences, more sound, etc.? Is it worth the
$97 upgrade price? Do any of the motion sequences have simultaneous audio?

Larry, I have the new Grolier's Multimedia Encyclopedia for DOS. It is
certainly worth the $97.00. There are film sequences with audio but IMHO
they do not have the educational value of the animated audio sequences in
Multimedia Microsoft Bookshelf. Supposedly the Grolier's Windows MPC
version, which is supposed to ship in about 2 weeks (don't hold your
breath) <g> will have more. I ordered the MPC version in early June! I'll
report back here when I get it.

One of the problems I'm having with Grolier's is this $100 per year upgrade
fee. I think I've already upgraded twice now. Do you know if you're still
eligible for an upgrade price even if you haven't upgraded in previous
years (i.e., you own a version earlier than last year's version)?
