Ani Pro under Windows Is there any way in which I can run Ani Pro under Windows ? I have been told it cannot be done. If if cannot then how long before we can look forward to Ani Pro for Windows ? Thanks in advance. David B.

At this time, you can not run AAPro under windows.

but is there anyway AniPro can exist with an extended memory manager — AniPro is the only program I use that needs to have the computer rebooted and memory rearranged to run it? I can understand not making AniPro work with Windows — probably no advantage — but a memory manager — please ???? andy cramer media disk

Andy: We run QEMM very happily with 3DS, ACAD, Ani Pro, and Windows 3.0 / 3.1. They are all set up with the DosShell so users can pick the one they need. Relatively easy to set up, just go with the defaults. If you have a network, you might have to exclude the memory area for it, but that's it. Let me know if you have a problem, send your Autoexec.bat & config.sys and it should be solvable on this august forum. Greg Pyros

i'll send the autoexec and config files via email — I don't use QEMM because I had a problem with GRASP and sound — I use EMM386 that is okay with GRASP — should that be okay with ANI PRO???? – I use it with the noems switch and exclude some upper memory for the f1280 video card andy

<<but is there anyway AniPro can exist with an extended memory manager>> I don't understand. Of course it can. I use QEMM with one configuration on my machine and can run everything.

I use emm386 and always get a phar lap type error — I don't use QEMM because I had some trouble with that and GRASP some time ago — I use a network — lantastic — but I have gone off the network to try to get anipro to work — I use emm386 with the noems switch and exclude some memory for my video card — a F1280 I'm surprised and delighted to hear it should work — now all I need to know is how andy

the error specifically is: Phar Lap err 35: The 386 chip is currently executing in virtual 8086 mode under the control of another program. You must turn off this other program in order to use 386|DOS-Extender to run in protected mode. thanks again andy

Hi there – According to the press release I received yesterday, we are now shipping Animator Pro(TM) 1.3, which is DPMI compliant, and will run as a DOS app. under Windows. Your dealer will have more info, or you can call 800/879-4233 for the name of one who will. Sorry, I don't know of any way for the 1.0 version to work under Windows. -Chris
