Looking for an expansion box for the A1000 to plug in A2000 cards (hard
drive cards and bridgeboard). Who might sell them?/exit Looking for an
external hard drive for the A1000 with SCSI interface controller. Who
might sell them?
try pre'spect for the NAKE'D card, a single slot adaptor to run A2000 cards
from the A1000 bus. I'm using one to run an ALF SCSI card on my Rejuvinated
1000 now. BUT NOTE !!!! THe 1000 bus is awefully finicky about what it
wants to run. I can run SCSI without memory, but not with it. Or & can run
memory without SCSI but not with. Basically, count on one device only. If
you can get more than one device to run on your bus, you're one of the
lucky ones ! Data flyer makes a box that let's you run ther SCSI and memory
on a 1000 bus (theoretically at least.) I have one coming from Briwall to
see if I can still get memory and SCI on my bus. Pre'Spect has tried really
hard to get me bothm but we've given up. Right now they have me running n
ALF3 SCSI card for a 2000 through the NAKE'D board adaptor. Good Luck. Make
sure your supplier woill let you return an item before you purchase it, if

I've installed several systems based around the DataFlyer 1000 box. All of
them except one has worked perfectly. The one that didn't had the wrong
kind of PAL chips on the WCS daughterboard (in the 1000, not the
Dataflyer!) My own 1000 has a Phoenix Toolbox, which is no longer
available. It runs well with a Commodore 2058, and a Trumpcard. I took the
extra steps of grounding the PALs and running a heavy ground lead from
inside the 1000 into the toolbox. None of the Dataflyers have needed
anything special.

Greg Tibbs, designer of the Rejuvinator, suggests that PAL speeds on the
Rjuvinator could cause some bus problems. Unfortunately, Greg made up three
different sets of PAL's for me, and I still can't get my ALF boards to run
memory and SCSI. I'm still waiting for BRIWALL to get my DATAFLYER setup to
me, since they didn't have any of the boxes in stock. Did any of the setups
you performed go into a 2meg Rejuvinated 1000 ? Paul

Yes ! A guy from the area users group just brought over a new Xetec
fastcard plus (2000 confiuration Zorro 2). It just sat there trying to
reboot indefinitely, and wouldn't recognize that there was a SCSI driver
attached, either. My hopes are now much lower that the DATA-Flyer coming
from Briwall will do any better. At least they promised I can return it if
it won't configure. With the new chip set out, I'm having second thoughts
about adding a MMR on here. Maybe I'll just wait 'til I can cough up the
$3500 for a 4000 and a new monitor. In the meantime, Preferred Techologies
says that the Blizzard board should work elcetronically with the Rejuv. but
it won't fit "space-wise". Perhaps a tin snips taken to the shielding could
take care of that. $200 to add a little bit of acceleration and some memory
wouldn't be too bad.

I have a MMR being added right now. I do plan on getting a AA machine the
A4000 probobly won't be it. I want to move over one of my SCSI drives from
the A1000, so I want to wait until SCSI-II is standard. I want to have my
A1000 doing routine things like word processing, and downloads. The AA
model will do things like Dpaint and Imagine.

Paul, No, none of the Dataflyers I set up went on Rejuvenated Amigas. They
were all pretty much stock. The store's system had one of the original
Insider boards, and it works fine.
