Greetings, I read Ben Williams feelings about the A4000–I am curious as to the rest of your feelings about this machine. How many people out there have one, and do you like it? What utilities have you found that support the AGA modes, and how is the speed (ignoring IDE of course)? -mark=

All my serious software works on the A4000 but none of it really supports the facilities of the AGA chip set. The speed : ….. FAST Greg :^)

Mark, Ben was pretty much right on in most respects. 🙂 Stuff I have that supports the new modes: ProWrite 3.3, ADpro, PageStream (sorta). Stuff I have coming that does: Final Copy II, ImageMaster x.xx, ImageFX. Speed? Blazing. Simply a wonderful machine.

Mark, I saw a demo of the A4000 the other day and it really flies compared to a 3000. Very impressive. 'Course, _I've_ only got a sluggardly 2000 … sigh … Regards, Shraddhan – via Whap! from Hertfordshire in the UK

Dpaint4 does not open its Hires screen in NON-Interlace… it looks like it does not support PROMOTION

Dpaint4, appears to make a solid request for a specific screen type. The AGA will NOT promote a screen, if it believes the screen is suppose to be interlaced, such as screens used with video. There are utilities appearing that will force promoted screens, in such cases. The earlier Dpaint3, can be promoted. Ron.
