I have been involved with still photography for a number of years now in North Carolina, and I have a good idea how to price photography jobs, but now I'm getting involved in corporate video production…Can anyone give me some general guidelines on pricing video shoots, post-production, and animation (2-D and #-D)? In photography I would charge about $100/hr + expenses, however, there would be very little Post-production work. Would similar pricing apply? Thanks, Ed Brown, PhotoDesignWorks

Ed, Another person left a similar message and I have given him my ideas in this same message section. I am sure others with more real-world experience than I have will pipe up too. -John

I use some pretty high end equipment… Betacam camera and ImMIX videocube editor. Shooting goes for $850 per day, editing is $100 per hour, digitizing footage is $55 per hour. These are Washington DC rates, however and like I said reflect top of the line equipment. I hope this helps. Eric Temple
