I've been trying to get AmigaNOS 2.9g working correctly, without much
success. I sure wish that there were some update documentation with the
Kit file. Oh well…. Anyway, it appears that remote stations that telnet
or ftp my station cannot get directory listings. A DIR or LIST command
results in a port getting opened and a message that 0 bytes got
transferred in 0 seconds! This doesn't happen under AmigaNOS 2.9b. Also,
a number of mbox commands in my nos-startup file no longer work —
apparently the relevant subcommands have been removed from the new
version. Any suggestions? I'm running a 2500 under AmigaDOS 2.04.

Darron;
Most (if not all) of the "missing" commands are now arguments to
subcommands (look at the "profile" subcommand).
I think that you have to have "ls" in your path for the DIR and LS
commands to work now.

Thanks for the suggestions for getting AmigaNOS 2.9g to work correctly.
I've been away for a couple of days and just got your message. I'll try
putting "ls" in my path and see if things work a bit better now. I'll
also be sure to check out the "profile" subcommand. BTW, is there a doc
file in the "kit" file for changed features/commands? I didn't see one.

Hi Darron, look for the mbox commads under mbox profile. Most config stuff
have been moved there. As for the ftp or telnet problems, make sure you
have the ls (I think thats the one) in your c directory. If you start
AmigaNOS from a shell window with mbox trace turned on, you will see
AmigaNOS start a new shell and do the listing. If the files missing then I
think it returns an error. The shell trace has helped me a few times when
I've had problems. Steve

Thanks for the hints on getting AmigaNOS2.9g up and running. Is there
a doc file anywhere that warns a person about the changes? I must have
missed it in the Kit29G file.

There's never any doc files!!! Its quite frustrating but I guess John has
his hands full writing the software. He mentioned porting over the PA0GRI
docs but I guess that hasn't materialized. I asked if he would mind if I
did some documentation for the program but he wasn't too interested. Maybe
I'll start a winter project up writing the docs. Any ideas? Steve
I'd just like to see description of all the features of the software in
one place. The general documentation for KA9Q software helps a lot, but
something explaining the use and installation of the Amiga software
specifically would be nice.

I 'd like to see a history file which would tell you of new features that
have been added or what has been changed. Sure would save alot of
time going through the various menus. Steve
