#CIM for Amiga

There is a CIM for Amiga?
Bob K.
No, there is not.
Yet.
Michael,
Perhaps you should put the answer to this question in the news flash. That
would save you from using up an AP macro.

Robert,
There is not an Amiga version of CIM, per se, but, it is possible to run
the PC version of CIM on the Bridgeboard, or the MacCIM on AMAX.
We keep hoping that CIS will produce the necessary library (called the HMI
library) for the Amiga, so that CIM (possibly) or Amiga specific
communication programs can be developed to use the more advanced features
available to PC and Mac users.

David,
I tried to run CIM on my A2286 BB and it seem`d that there are no
problems. But after the Message "Logging in to Datex-P (German PTT) and
Logging in to Compuserve" there was a wile nothing and then the message
"could not open the protokoll" and CIM hang`s up. What protokoll is this?
And what I`m may do wrong? If you have any idea pls let me know.

Horst,
I also run CIM on my A2286 BB and don't experience problems running it.
I wish that I could be of more assistance here, but, I'm not familiar with
the Datex-P network connection, which seems to be your problem. The
latest version of CIM is 2.06a, dated September 22, 1992. My version has
Datex-P as one of the network choices. The Datex script file, DATEX.SCR,
is version 1.4 and dated . The failure message in the DATEX.SCR file is
"Datex-P not responding." The message "could not open procokoll" is not
contained in the script, so it may be a problem later on in the sign-on
sequence. That's about as far as I can help out. Since it seems to be a
CIM software problem rather than an Amiga or BB related problem, you might
try the CIM support forum. Try setting up AP to make a run to DOSCIM.
Looking at the News Flash, there is a file called NEWGER.EXE that is a
German language version of some new script files. They also have two new
sections: Section 14: Deutscher CIM and Section 17 European Support that
might have further information on the problems you're experiencing.
(The better part of valor, at least at first, might be to not mention the
word "Amiga", and just say that you're running on a 286 clone.)

PS – you are running with a PC modem or COM1 serial card, right?
