#BBS and NewTek on Cable

If you get the SCI-FI channel, check out the quirky "Mysteries from Beyond
the Other Dominion" (at least I think that's the name). Both Black Belt
Systems and NewTek were thanked in the credits!

Wow! Two times in one night! The show "Inside Space" featured the
Toaster in one of it's segments. They even showed portions of the Video
Toaster tape. Pretty neat!

Hey, maybe Ben knows what type of image manipulation was involved in that
show! C'mon Ben, gloat a little. <g> Unfortunately, such niceties as the
Sci-Fi channel are not available north of the border, so I can't see it for
myself.

Actually, I do NOT know. Imagemaster is in use at so many Hollywood type
effects shops, I have very little way to keep track. Ones that stick in my
mind are people who are famous for other reasons. For instance, the fellas
who won the awards for Terminator-II use Imagemaster, and have been for
some time. They've done network TV with it, too. Lots of commercials you
may have seen used Imagemaster – again, I'd be hard put to name any, we
just rarely see the final work directly. Lessee… a Sci-Fi thing called
"Tales of Regis" uses it… the Michael Jackson video producers use it…
the people doing Jurassic Park use it…
It's interesting to look at the demographics of Imagemaster owners. We
have over three _thousand_ users in the Hollywood area. That should tell
you something.

Imagine that. :^)

I would *really* like to get the SCI-FI channel. Alas, my local cable
company has said they don't have any free slots to put it into. (Which is
true, but there are quite a few channels I could do without. MTV and VH-1
would be good starts… <evil grin>)

Unfortunately you're not missing much. The Sci-Fi channel is a great idea
but the USA network, which owns it, has created something that is
virtually unwatchable. There are way too many commerical interruptions and
most of the time when I tune in they're running infomercials.
The Sci-Fi channel was a major disappointment for me.
Actually, I'd be willing to put up with the commercials to be able to watch
some of the shows they have. And hopefully they'll get better over time…

Sorry you're disappointed, but I'm not. The shows that I watch on the
channel ("The Prisoner", for one) don't seem to have too many
commercials….at least not compared to what you normally see on TV.
Steve
Is he off the island yet?
Yeah, but he always comes back. :-\
Steve
To think… here's one guy who'd rather do without MTV, while I would
LOVE to have the priviledge of watching Liquid TV.
