Im new to the world of word processing and printers for that
matter. Im using FWII and a canon BJ200 along with the canon driver
from wolf faust. It seems to take forever to print a page in
anything but draft, like a couple of minutes for high quality text.
Stock amiga 500 with 5megs ram.
Is anyone else using this setup? If so i would like to know how your
system is set up "DIP switchs-prefs-etc.." Ive even read the docs that
came with the printer and canonstudio (a first for me) but to be honest i
dont really understand much of it.

Sorry, I doubt you can get faster. The CanonBJ5-230 driver is pretty
fast as it uses the printers Extended Emulation if you turn it on in
CanonPref (default is off!). Simply selet the "Graphics Only" mode
for printing from FW II. But don't expect miracles. A simply Amiga
500 is simply to slow for generatin the printer data. So, if you want
to get things quicker, you have to get a accelerator board.

So the times im seeing to print a page are normal then. I guess ill have to
live with it for now, but at least i know everything is set up right.. I
currently have the printer dir switchs set to all on except #11 which is off,
is this correct?

Sorry, I don't know your printer. Please read the docs regarding the dip
switches. Note that switches are different for various normal/e/ex models.

Oh, sorry, i have the BJ200. I looked in the docs about the settings for the
dip switchs but dont get what you mean by all on then some off.. which ones
need to be set where???

The Canon readme manual has a table showing the dip switch settings. "ALL" in
the ON table means that all DIP switches should be set to ON except those
mentioned in the OFF column and vise versa.
I'm suprised finding some users unable to understand the meaning and thus
changed the table in the latest Studio documentation. Unless I forget
something, the CanonDisk V3 will also have the changed table.
