Does anyone know of any subscriber services for CDROM that would offer data
for an INFORMATION SERVICES (MIS) department. I work for a MAJOR
corporation in NYC and we are interested in exploring the possibilities but
do not know what services are available. THANKS!
Computer Select is a CD-ROM that has most of the Ziff-Davis magazine
articles and reviews of hardware and some important pieces of hardware. I
think it is $1000 per year or so.

You may be interested in Computer Select, SOS for Applications and SOS for
Networks. All three are monthly subscriptions on CD. Briefly, Computer
Select contains one full year (on each disc) of about 170 Computer related
publications, plus about 80,000 hardware & software specs and about 13,000
computer company profiles.
SOS for Applications contains tech notes for the leading Applications,
including 1-2-3, Excel, Word Perfect, DOS, OS/2, Windows, etc. The tech
notes come right from the manufacturer. We also have some manuals and
books on the apps.
SOS for Networks is the same as SOS for Applications, except that it
contains Network hardware & software info from manufacturers like Novel,
3COM, Microsoft (LAN Man), Banyan, etc.
