Hmmm, still IDE I see. I wonder if all the new Amiga's will have IDE
instead of SCSI-2?

My impression (and this isn't official word or anything, but rather just
the impression I get from Commodore) is that Commodore won't make the IDE
mistake on a high-end Amiga again.
An A500 replacement, as the 1200 is rumored to be, with IDE makes sense,
though, as opposed to an A4000 with IDE. 🙂

I _hope_ that Commodore doesn't move to IDE for the entire line! However,
in a low end machine, like the A600, it makes a lot more sense than it
does in an otherwise powerhouse machine like the A4000.

Commodore has stated publicly that future machines _will_ have SCSI-2 on
board.
It seems that the main reason for the IDE route was speed of
implementation. Waiting for a fully-tested SCSI-2 would have delayed these
first machines in the range.
