Neil,
From some previous messages I've gotten, it seems the Amiga-specific
interface is the way to go. Some problem with a one-pixel high white line (or
one pixel too many of line feed) with the IBM interface. Andrew
Randy;
Thanks for the reply, and for the information.
Would it be a problem if I downloaded files for the Amiga, gave them
filenames that DOS can handle, but gave instructions for renaming the file
as it is downloaded to an Amiga? have to do that with some of the c64
files I stock.

No problem at all. Just don't use Xmodem for your transfers 🙂
Michael;
OK, thanks; what protocol is acceptable. Is B OK to dl with from here?

Steve:
Any of the CIS 'B' protocols will be fine. The B+ XPR contained in the
BackTalk archive in lib 5 of AmigaUser is a good one.
Michael;
Thanks, my comm program uses the B family, I download all the time with
it for DOS, just didn't know if Amiga files were particular about what
protocol is used for the transfer.

I think the only way to do that would be to include a README.TXT type file
and hope everybody reads it. I'd still suggest that you compress your
files on the Amiga using PKAZip or equivalent. Give the Zip file a
standard DOS type filename. Inside the Zip, however, the files can have
their full-length names when the Zip file is extracted on the users Amiga.
