The current video toaster can be used by IBM pc users.. I know, I'm one!
I'm interested! Where can I get more info on toasting my PC?
From NewTek. The solution I use lets me use my PC for the books and word
processing without ANY performance degradation, even while rendering
broadcast quality animation directly to videotape. I have a Video Toaster
workstation, which lets me use the best tool for each of the jobs I have to
do. And it saved alot of $$ !!
Just FYI: That "Toaster Workstation" is a Commodore Amiga with a Toaster
in it. If you're interested in more Amiga software, browse through the
AmigaForums. Have fun!

You don't have any performance degradation while rendering because the
Amiga (aka Toaster Workstation) is doing all the work. Your PeeCee is
nothing more than a control display for the Toaster.
The Toaster Workstation is nothing more than a Commodore Amiga 2000
computer with a factory-installed Video Toaster card. It is capable of
running thousands of Amiga programs that can do a lot more than just toast
video! 🙂
Also, a PeeCee is NOT required. The Toaster Workstations run just fine on
their own without another computer connected to them. If you don't have
any need for the PeeCee, it is a waste of money to buy one to use in a
Toaster setup.

I already had a PC, but, being a professional, I cannot afford to be loyal
to a particular hardware or software platform when more cost-effective
solutions are available. The PC is gret for spreadsheet and word
processing, and I'm sure the Amiga has fine software for these purposes,
but I won't need it, 'cause the PC is already here, and the Amiga will be
busy rendering anyway (I hope!). I have to judge the results and not the
tool used to achieve them. It does seem that the Amiga system beats
windows severely, but then, I found windows to be a waste of an otherwise
capable machine. I don't need a 33mhz 486 for typing letters.

I understand and agree with what you're saying. I was just pointing out
that an MS-DOS PC is NOT required to use the Toaster. Some people think
it is.

Yes, even better, I was merely trying to indicate that lack of a PC bus
Toaster Card should not stop anyone with a serious need for Toaster
capability from getting one.. they say "But I'm a PC user, and this goes
in an ameega or something" not realizing that they had to buy separate
boxes for recording tape, (decks) which also can't plug into the trusty

Which basically means that Newtek sent you an Amiga 2000 and a Video
Toaster. That other box sitting next to your PC is really an Amiga 2000.
Just thought I'd let you know…
