#Not A Morphable Object!
4 messages in this thread
Help! I am trying to morph an object and I keep getting an error message
which says "No Morphable Objects". This seems to be an un-documented error
message as I can't find it anywhere in the manuals. There is also no
description of what determines whether an object is morphable or not. The
objects in question are polygons created in the shaper and lofted. One has
26 vertices and the other 58 vertices. I have tried lofting them in various
ways, i.e. tween on/off, contour on/off, etc. Nothing works. If I create
a simple circle or rectangle and loft it with the same path (the default
path) there is no problem, I get the "Morph to what?" dialog box.
Shape/Check says my shapes are valid and the lofter lofts them perfectly. I
just can't morph them in the Keyframer. Anybody know what's happening or
what I am doing wrong?
You're probably lofting objects with the Optimize button ON, and the
different versions are being made with different sets of faces (due to
optimization). The "No Morphable Objects" message isn't an error
message… it's just a statement that no other objects in memory match the
face list of the one you're trying to morph.
Turn off optimize and you should be fine.

Yup! That was it. And I thought I had tried it with that sucker turned off
too. Anyway, thanks for the quick help.

Good news. Have fun,
