#IPAS & R3 with weitek ?

Will 3DS R3 and IPAS-programming kit support weitek ? regards, Martin I have asked this question before but didn't get any answer ! 🙂

I can answer part of the question: 3DS3 is being shipped as an Intel version only. Unresolvable compiler problems has forced this. The good news: if you have a Weitek 486/33 or less, then an R2 Weitek version of 3DS should not render any faster than the R3 Intel version on the same machine. Nik

I have no problem with it it's a customer of mine that has a weitek. I get faster rendering with 486DX2/66Mhz without weitek than with in R2, I have tested it on my computer. Unless there is a weitek that can handle a speed greater than 33MHz there is no reason to by it, the internal mathprocessor is faster. regards,Martin

Nope… but we did switch from Metaware version 1.x to version 3.x. And the loc_lib in 3.x just didn't work with the Weitek chip anymore. We tried working with them to make it work for eight months, but no go. – G
