VistaLite Beta Testers Needed —————————– Chaocity still needs about another half a dozen beta testers for the "Lite" version of VistaPro. Amiga 500, 600, 1000 or 1200 needed with 2 megs of memory. Send email to [75300,3706] if you are interested. Clint <Chaocity> P.S. In case you are confused, it will be published by VRLI, but is being developed by Chaocity.

Clint, I can offer help on the 1200. I have two. One standard, the other with the MBX1230 accelerator card (68030 @ 33MHz, MMU, 2 chip, 1 fast), and 60Mb hard drive.

Hey Clint I will give it a go I have an A2000 with a GVP '030 and 6 megs of ram. I would like to test out the lite version. Oh I also run WB 2.0 and have a DCTV.

Billy: Thanks! I'll email you something later tonite. The Lite version doesn't have DCTV support in it, as it had to be trimmed drastically to fit our memory criteria. It does support HAM8 and 256 color mode on the 1200 though. Clint <VRLI><Chaocity>

Clint: Any chance of it supporting a 256 color mode with cards like the Picasso, and/or GVP EGS card, etc that allow use of the screenmode requestor to choose their modes? // -Mike Schiller \X/ AMIGA! On AutoPilot in sunny Fort Lauderdale

Mike: Not for VistaLite. It's really tight for space right now, and if people want the additional video support, they probably need VistaPro anyway. VistaPro 4.0 will support as many additional cards as I can squeeze in. Clint <VRLI><Chaocity>

Clint, Will VistaPro 4.0 support GVP's IV24? Thanks. David
#116888From: Clint Woeltjen@VRLIOct 3, 1993 7:28 PM
David: If I can get ahold of an IV24 for long enough to add support. I'll be sending out letters to manufacturers around Nov 1 to see if I can get loaner boards. I can't afford any new hardware purchases right now, so it's up to the manufacturers, if they want to be supported, they will be supported. Clint <VRLI><Chaocity>

Clint, Thanks for the Beta. Among other things, I shall give it to my fifteen year old daughter to try. It's amazing what an unjaundiced eye can see. <g> Pete Jones, flying on AutoPilot from Brussels, Belgium

Peter: Very definitely! My kids are among my best beta testers. <grin> They have no preconceived notions as to what functions are supposed to work together. Clint <VRLI><Chaocity>

VistaPro 4.0 will support as many additional cards as I can > squeeze in. Sound great! For now though, is there way to make VistaPro 3 just run on a machine with a Picasso II car installed? I can't even make the program load on my A4000/40/Picasso system. I never seem to get the requester that allows me to pick a screenmode. Also tried going into my Picasso 'Changescreen' program and forcing all NTSC and DNTSC screens to bypass the card ahead of time, it still won't load. Steve: Brick added Picasso support to a version of VP3, but hasn't sent me the code yet. I will ask again, and send you a beta when I get it from him. I have never had access to a Picasso myself, so it's hard to guess just why the release VP doesn't like it. Clint <VRLI><Chaocity>

Billy: If you didn't receive the first beta, let me know, I sent it out on Saturday. I will normally try to send updates every week, or sooner if you have discovered problems and I want to verify that they are fixed. Manuals will be sent out in about 2-3 weeks. Clint <VRLI><Chaocity>

Billy: Are you the only one who uses that account? According to CIS' postal receipt, it was retreived from your account at 13:47 on Oct 2. I will send it again, but let me know if your account is not "private". Clint <VRLI><Chaocity>

Clint, What a comedy of errors I am in this week! I use a clone for CIS, I downloaded the file you sent, and unforyunately Crossdos won't give me an Icon for VP to launch it on my Amiga…yikes…can you tell I'm rather new to downloading files and converting them. I don't have a clue as to how to do this so, I guess you might want to add another tester…unless you have a suggestion on how to get this Dos file to become and Aniga Dos file…I repeat; Yikes! Dave: First thing you need is LHA to unarchive VistaLite. You will find that in the Archivers/Crunchers Library here in 'User. Once you have it decompressed, you can take your VistaPro icon, clone it for a VistaLite icon if you want to run from WB. This early in Beta, I usually run from CLI. I will try to put together an icon for the next beta. Clint <VRLI><Chaocity>
