I'm a novice (about 1 week) 3D studio rel2 (2.01a) user and I own a Cirrus Logic gd5426 (hc24) 2MB ram VLB. What I want to know is if there are any specific ADI drivers for my graphic card (which obviously would use all of its feature including the 24 bit true-color modes). I've been trying to configure the render output with the RCPvesa.exp, but 3ds doesn't seem to like it 🙂 (I tried a VESA driver, ans still no luck). Anyway, it's no big deal because I can render all I want using NULL and DISK output, but it would be nice to watch image and animation previews with a resolution other than vga320x200 >grin< Thanks in advance for any help.

You should contact Cirrus L., because I think they include a driver (might even be the Vibrant one) with purchase of their cards. In my opinion the best drivers are the ones from Vibrant Graphics. They are FAST, easy to set up, reliable, and enable some of the features in 3DS that other drivers don't. Vibrant Graphics 12741 Reasearch Blvd. Austin, Tx 78759 USA (512) 250-1711 The drivers support most known graphics cards, including yours, and will also be automatically included in Release 3.

Try contacting panacea inc. at 1-800-729-7400 or 1-603-437-5022. I have a cirrus logic vlb based chip set and the driver I have to use was a panacea driver. If you still have problems let me know.

All cards based on Cirrus Logic chipsets ship with our TurboDLD Classic ADI driver. If the driver didn't come with your card, you can download the demo version from this forum, the filename is TRBDEM.EXE. The demo is a fully working version for 3DS and ACAD, and gives you access to the features of our retail product for 20 minutes a day. You can also download the file CIRRUS.EXE from our BBS. This is the driver that we provide to Cirrus. Our BBS number is 603-432-5193.

Thank you Chris. Now that I found the manual that came with my card, I'm certain there WERE ADI drivers. The problem is I'm having trouble finding the disks (Okok, I'm not very organized ehehehe 🙂 Anyway, I will call your board. Thanks for your help. Bye Sergio Pozzetti
