I am using Parnet on a 500 speedy with CSA Derringer 030 and the Dataflyer Scsi controler and I am installing the parnet soft on that machine and as soon as I hit boot.host when the moun:net arrive I got a GURU of 8000000003 . I don't know what it is . If you Idea tell me . The host ( a 1000 ) is working accessing the dataflyer disk but the net on the 500 does not work . Thanks

Marcel, Maybe this is too simple, but you say that you crash when you hit "boot.host" on the A500, but you also say that the A1000 is the host. You can't have two hosts. In that case the A500 should run "boot.client" Also, have you installed the support files? Hope this helps. Let me know how the A1000 works since I have two for my kids. Anyone know how parnet can be used with more than one machine either simultaneously or even at different times? Chris Abissi

I might be late on this thread, but in answer to the question posed by Chris, ParNET will not (in its current form anyway) allow the use of more than 2 machines. There is a product available called Amiga Turbo Network that is a shareware product from german authors that allows up to 8 Amigas to be linked Via their parallel ports. That is what I suspected. I guess that you could use a parallel switch box alternate different pairs of connected Amigas. There is an article in AmigaWorld from October on using Parnet. How can I get Amiga Turbo Network? Axiom Software is releasing a version of Parnet, with cable that will allow 2 Toaster equipped machines to share Lightwave rendering work. The software will adjust for the relative speeds of the two machines. The list price is around $150.00 Chris Abissi

Chris, The problem with using a switch box, from my experience, is that Parnet will not dismount PAR:. So you would have to reboot each time you switch. I had this problem when I was trying to use PAR: for Parnet & printing. Andrew
