Whats Vista Morph for the PC? Is there an Amiga version?
Nick
Nick:
VistaMorph is a program which incorporates VistaPro and MakePath to
make animations which morph between 2 landscapes. This is a bit simplistic
of an explanation, as it does alot more than that, but it gets the idea
across. A programmer has been assigned to the Amiga port, which he will
start as soon as he's done testing FormBuster. And yes, FB for the Amiga
is on his list as soon as he's done with VistaMorph. <grin>

and what is FormBuster if you don't mind me asking ;^)

I'll let you know just as soon as I find out. <grin> It's some sort
of a computer/fax add-on, but I have few details.

FormBuster is a DOS program that allows a PC equipped with a fax-modem to
receive a form (any form) via fax, or imported as a PCX, and then allows
the user to fill in the form either via keyboard input, or by importing
information stored in a text or database file… and then send the
[completed] form out, via fax.
It has been advertised in some of the PC magazines, but isn't out just
yet.
Nick,
VistaMorph started out as a program for morphing one Vistapro landscape into
another. For instance, you could smoothly morph Mount St. Helens into Crater
Lake. It grew into a more general purpose "control" program that can also
"morph" many of the settings withing Vistapro during an animation. For
instance you can easily change the treeline, cloud density, and sun position
during any animation. VistaMorph starts with a MakePath script (or a no
script), adds all the desired commands and produces a new script file that can
then be rendered with Vistapro.
VistaMorph is only available on the PC right now, but an Amiga version is
planned.

Hmmm. Then could you use VistaMorph to alter the season of a scene,
without actually changing the landscape itself?

Ron,
RL> could you use VistaMorph to alter the seasons?
Yes. Morphing the shape of the landscape is optional. You can alter only the
other settings if that's what you want. For instance you could change the tree
colors from green to orange and yellow over a number of frames.
Note that you don't have to have VistaMorph to accomplish this. The script
files are plain ascii text so you can edit them with any text editor (Ed, TxEd,
CEd, etc). It's tedious adding dozens or hundreds of commands but it can be
done.

Ron:
Actually, you could do that with VistaPro already, just load a new
colormap between each frame. There are script commands to allow you to do
that. VistaMorph makes it easier, I think, but since I don't have a PC to
play with, I haven't had any chance to actually use it. I am eagerly
awaiting the Amiga version myself.
