GP>> The piece is 2.5 minutes long, and proves that 3DS can be used GP>> for high-end character animation! That's great to hear! I'm new to this forum (and to Compuserve) and this message really got my attention. I have a client who is interested in an animated character. I can't wait to see the video to get some ideas on how it's done. Maybe we can persuade Mr. Edwards to share a few secrets once more people get a look at it!

Hi Greg, I'm new to compuserve and maybe I might be sending this to the wrong person but here goes. I did a 6.5 minute animation using the usual (Targa/Diaquest/3DS/lots of coffee, tea and no sleep) in 16 days 1 month after 3DS V2 had been released. It is of a blocky character on a motorbike who is chased by police, going up down lifts, crashing, running, climbing, flying through dungeons, etc and finally ending up in the VR room at Autodesk! The whole thing (from loading the software to video tape) was done in 15 days and 4 hrs and I won the bet (all $10 of it!). Quite a few Autodesk guys here in the UK were impressed and most of it was used in a rave video (reached No 1 in London charts). However, because I never knew anyone in the 3DS circuit at the time it just sat there on my shelf! If you are interested then I will send a copy, let me know where… It was called "Intruder Jones and the Temple of VRoom" get it?…the temple of the VR Room!" Mr P.K. PS I am using a friends compuserve address.

I'd love to see that video, Mr. PK… If you feel like it, send a PAL copy over to me if you don't have an NTSC version, and I'll get it converted. My address is: 3739 Balboa St., #230, SF, CA 94121.
