#Archiving w/DirOpus

I'm having a problem configuring a DirectoryOpus button to archive
selected files to a destination disk. I've tried using the ARC ADD
button, both as is and reconfigured without success. The manual says
nothing about the command "archive" which is the default command for
ARC ADD, in fact, I've noticed function arguments like {Dr} that I
can't find any documentation on either. I have noticed there are
buttons with commands such as AUTO and AUTO2, but the manual doesn't
mention anything about these either, am I missing an addendum or
something?
I've tried reconfiguring a new button to use LhA and haven't been able to
get it to archive to the intended destination disk, just to the disk from
the selected files.
I have DirectoryOpus V4.03
Dopus.library V19.0
and am running them on an A1200.

It sounds very much like you have upgraded to v4.03 from version 3 and
are still running off your old version 3 configuration file. The
Archive command was removed from version 4, and replaced by three
default menu commands (LHA, Arc and Zoo).
If you go into the Menus configuration section and pick Default, and
then select the Function menu to import (you must have an empty menu
bank to be able to do this), you will get the new function menu
containing the archiving functions. You could then copy the LHA menu
item to a button, or whatever.
The Auto and Auto2 commands were renamed to User1 and User2 (and User3
and 4 were added) in version 4. However, Auto and Auto2 were retained
for compatibility.
FYI, the default function for LHA archiving is :
LHA -x a "{d}{RsEnter LHA archive name}" {O}
I called tech support and they explained why I couldn't get the
Skip All option to work. I'm not quite certain why you didn't tell me
this, since I did ask you exactly how I should use the command to get
it to work. Anyway, here's the answer so you'll know the next time
someone asks you. The SKIP ALL option will only appear when you do a
search on a number of individual files themselves. That is you must
highlight and search files instead of highlighting directories when
you do a search. I had been highlighting directories and doing a
search and that's why the SKIP ALL option didn't appear. The option
only works on files.
I have a very comprehensive DirOpus custom configuration that
includes all sorts of Archiveing and dearchiveing menus and buttons.
I can send it to you if you like… Although, Maybe I better ask:
Hey INOVAtronics.. is it ok to send config files back and forth or are
the copyright/proprietary? If there is a problem with sending him a
config file, lemme know and I'll just type up the descriptions…
If its not a problem, I'd love to take a look at your config file.
Untill recently I just sort of stayed with the defaults but have
found that DirOpus is pretty powerfull if you take the time to really
understand it.
I'd love to take a look at someone else's config file. You never
know what someone else will come up with!
