I've got a couple of problems: Firstly I'm trying out the shareware version of the bones ipas routine. The problem is when I try and use bones2.pxp in the 3D-Editor after I've used the bones1.kxp in the keyframmer, 3D-Studio crashes with a memory protection fault as soon as I click on the mesh object. I'm using release 3 at the moment but will upgrade soon… Is it because I have a old version or is there a common mistake which could be causing the problem? (The crash happens with every mesh I try – even the Chevy example) Secondly – Can anyone recomend any shareware blobby object creators? I've got Blob Sculptor 2.0 which is good but the DXF files take ages to load in 3D-Studio and I was wondering if there are any alternatives.. Can anyone recommend any other shareware Ipas routines which are available? Michael Mulholland.

I had a similar problem and the creator downloaded an update, I think the updated version is available. Also it is a little finicky with objects consisting of multiple elements. If you are using the helper program to make more precise boning, make sure all objects are clear of orignal bones settings. Try simple objects first to see if it works, then try boning parts of your meshes individually until the offending element causes it to crash, then delete, recreate or boolean the element to the working mesh. THIS IS A GREAT PROGRAM, REGISTER IT AND ENCOURAGE MORE DOGOODERS TO MAKE AFFORDABLE IPAS, AND HOPEFULLY MAKE THE BIG GUYS PRICE THEIR STUFF MORE ACCESSIBLE.

Walter, Thanks for the message, any idea what file is the update and where it is?.. If I can get Bones working I'll certainly register, the example flc's I've seen are extremely good and anyone willing to release good IPAS routines CHEAPLY should be supported. Mike

its there in the lib 3d files as bones2.zip im pretty sure that's it. The first version worked kinda on my computer @ work but not @ all on my home one, the fix helped but you still can run into crashes, save often @ remeber that if it does crash ther is some kinda offending mesh object. I tried to bone a meshs of a girl;) its a common mesh of a girl with boobs and hair kinda cartoonish like, her eye brows and some seperate elements were causing it to crash once I booleaned them together it worked. I'll be unemployed fri & plan to work on 3d studio like crazy to get samples to work in this field. So if you ever find anything neat or figure soething out keep me in your file and keep in touch. You want to see something neat, check out my varyani.zip file in animations i didn't make the mesh but see what i did with it once again, keep in touch, its good to know pwople in this area of work -Wally

Hi Wally, Try Digimation's brand new BonesPro. It's demo version is in Asoft Libraries, section IPAS Usage. Questions are welcome, Mike Tsoupko-Sitnikov, AnimaTek, 74747,1472
