HI Have a serious problem with mit a2000 GVP3001 wb2.04 . After a crash yesterday I found that my Amiga does not know the command "path" anymore. Any Information to this would be appreciated. Ith could be, that some of the problems I have with certain programms are caused by this error. I never heard anything about the possiblility that a single command can dissapear out of the internal rom… Since I'm ot an expert in programming or Hardware any Information would be appreciated. thank's al lot……Harald ===> Harald Ackermann wit Autopilot from Germany<====

Harald, unlike many computers, the Amiga commands are not stored on ROM or built into the DOS shell, unless you are using a replacement shell. Instead, each command is stored in the C: directory on your harddisk. Open a shell, do a "Dir" command (without the quotes) and see if Path is listed. If not, then you will need to reinstall it from a floppy, such as a Workbench floppy. If it is listed, then something very strange is happening. For some reason, Workbench or the Shell can't find your C: directory. Make absolutely sure that you do not have C: assigned somewhere else. If you type "assign" at a Shell prompt, it should show you were C: is assigned. Make sure it is what it is supposed to be. I hope this helps. (BTW, I put this a bit simplistically, but I did that for the language barrier. Ich spreche ein bischen Deutsch ;-).

Hi Brian thank's for the info. Though in WB2.04 some of the basic commands are internal. I did install the path from the 1.3 disk. Everything is fine now.
