Keith- Don't you guys have a product of the same name. Is it the same
product?

We have a surface modeling product for AutoCAD called
QuickSurf. QuickSurf does not do any solid modeling. Primary users
of QuickSurf are in mining, oil & gas, environmental, civil,
surveying, architecture, military, GIS and related fields.
AutoSurf is aimed and priced for the mechanical, air craft,
automotive and industural engineering fields. While AutoCAD has been
very strong in the 2D CAD market it has not been competitive in the
3D mechanical CAD market. AutoSurf is design and priced to compete
in that market.
While AutoSurf can be used for model construction with 3D
Studio the price will make that prohibitive for most Studio users.
(Not to mention they would also have to have AutoCAD).
Keith- While no price was mentioned on the tape I saw, I figured that
it might be a little pricey for me. I just looked like it would be a
nice modeller, especially for technical things that required exact
dimensions. Currently, I use Autocad for that type of work. The main
thing that caught my eye was the NURBS based modeller and the real
time feedback. I use the IPAS routines for deformations, but that
can get a little cumbersome with all of the trial and error. Thanks.
