#R3 net problems
5 messages in this thread
Hi Jack (or whoever is not on vacation).
I've got R3 on my 3 node Lantastic network, and everything about it is
SUPER!!!!
I do have one major problem: memory conflicts that, try as I might, I
can't solve. I've gotten too many pharlap error messages in the last
two days, and have tried everything from clean boots with himem.sys
only, to QEMM with stealth, without stealth, with no pageframe and
forceems on, ect…, but it always boils down to some sort of
instability on the main machine that has the network files on it.
Can you refer me to someone experienced enough with R3, Lantastic,
QEMM and the various computer video peripherals that can come
on-sight and stabilize my system? I really need to get the system at
100% full operation as fast as possible.
I've been reading your messages, but I haven't jumped in because I
don't have a solution for you, and Gary won't be back until Tues.
morning. When I got my new 486/66, it took me about two weeks to get
everything working (to some extent), and when I tried QEMM several
weeks later, I spent an entire day without luck before giving it up
completely. So you can see that I'm the wrong person to ask. I'm
surprised no one on the forum here has come up with a solution.
Sounds like you are writing a new job description for yourself. When
you finally solve all your memory problems, you will be that expert
you are looking for! Just forget about animation and become a
software installation consultant!!! <g>
You're joking, I know, but it looks like that's what's going to
happen. I have the gift of being able to produce every known bug in
any piece of hardware/software I get. Someday I'll have the gift of
being able to straighten it out, too. Things are looking up, though,
and the network is rendering as we speak with 0 faults.
