#TBCIV flickering

Can anyone tell me why My TBCIV software control screen comes up shaking like it's interlaced whenever the toaster is also running. I am using WB in HiRes w/ FFV and a Multiscan Taxan 770+. If I pull the TBCIV screen down slightly so that the WB is slightly visible, the flickering stops. Also, as I said it only occurs when the Toaster4000 is running. This is on an A2000 w/Zeus 040/33 16megs fast and 2meg chip. Thanks Rocky

Rocky, The problem is that the TBCIV screen is not an interlaced screen like the workbench's, and the Toaster is forcing interlace. Along with the Toaster comes a little program called Laceset. It is located in a drawer called utilities inside the Toaster drawer. If you open a shell and type "YourDriveName:Toaster/Utilities/Laceset" the flickering will stop. It's a good idea to run this in your S:User-Startup file. JG P.S. Mind if I use this Q for a Dear John question?

Sure go ahead and use it in your column. I read it all the time. I still don't quite understand. I thought the FFV was supposed to automatically eliminate that. I had used the setlace workbench program but it didn't seem to work. The workbench is in interlace. Well I did as you suggested and it works fine.. I also asked this over in the Arts section but isn't there a faster way to "build a page" line by line with keyed CG pages ? I used to do it all the time in Dpaintiv just by flipping screens.

Thanks. FFV won't eliminate it on screens that are not interlaced to begin with. Non interlaced screens such as ADpro and TBCIV will exhibit this only when the Toaster is running or has run and then shut down. The way I build CG pages is to create the last one first and then copy it to how ever many 'bullet' points you want. Then erase the line(s) not needed on each page. JG

It will work, but unless your monitor is a multisync, you won't notice much of a difference. 1960's are multisync I believe. JG
