#Creating Z axis slope
5 messages in this thread
I need to create a triangular shaped object which slopes about
45degree. It is going to be part of a roof. What is the best way to
do this? I have tried several methods and nothing works really well
since the triangle lies either flat down or straight-up. How do I get
this 45 degree slope in the object?
Judy – One easy way is to make your triangle straight up and then
select vertex and then move the selected vertex back into the z-axis,
with move selected vertex. But if your building has already been
created and you just want to create a triangular face, you can use
create face build. Then select a vertex on the building and click on
it and move to the next point and so forth. -JE P.S. Another way is
to build the triangle straight up and then rotate it 45' on the x
axis.
Thanks

Something else you can do would be to start with a long thin rectangle in the
shaper. This would be the edge of the roof section (Or mabye you would call it
the lip of the roof). Then loft that recatangle along a curved path, and scale
it to very small on the top of the path at the same time.

I will have to test this out. Thanks
