Question, How can I prevent Horizontal Scroll when
editing from my master to another deck. I finally got all 3081 frames
successfully layed, now I am in the process of putting them to an
(edited Master) for use on a A/B Panasonic system to be edited yet
one more time into the video that it is for. I do not have the A/B
roll system, but I am wanting to put the animations on another tape
and keep my original. I seem to be running into a horizontal bar
scroll between animations, that is, one animation stops, and the
other starts, when the other starts, there is a one time horizontal
scroll, very annoying. Probably something real simple but I dunno
whu iz. Do I need to sync the SVO 9600 with the target deck? If so,
I'll have to make another cable. Thanks in advance, Whew, this has
been alot of work, I'm ready for a check and a couple of days off.

Do you have house (master) sync? It sounds like you need it. Either
that or you're doing assemble edits instead of inserts!
This sounds like a question for Don Landis or other Video savvy types.
I just lay down previews on my deck. I take my post editing to a
suite and let the engineer do all the button pushing. But I'm going
to have to learn to do this stuff myself soon, so let me know what
you find out.

Not sure exactly what your setup is but for starters:
You can only do A/B roll editing with two source decks that are genlocked
(common sync). This is accomplished two ways. through two TBC's with common
sync or a frame store synchronizer feeding the switcher.
If you are trying to do a cuts only edit you need the following: A source
feeder deck, an edit controller, and an edit recorder. The edit recorder has
to be equipped with rotary erase heads. Do all your editing as insert edits to
a pre black stripped tape. Assemble editing to a blank tape is not as
desirable because it produces less accurate control tracks. Pre stripe your
tapes with a good stable source like a camera output or a black frame from your
targa composite out.
Finally make sure the any switches on your decks are set for internal sync.
