When do the IPAS routines start popping up like … toast!??! (err… sorry, in my excitement I have forgotten how to spell daiseys <BG>!) On the subject of IPAS routines, who are the big players out there? Pyros, of course, but who else and what is available? Is there a compilation/catalog?

Well, it took me about 6 months after 3DSr2 shipped for me to get my IPAS routines out the door, and I don't expect it to be much sooner than that this time. (especially since THIS TIME we're working very closely with Autodesk on the IPAS3 SDK itself, including a very elegant resource editor for building dialog boxes and such) I can't comment on anybody else's plans. Chris Allis at Autodesk keeps track of all the current 3DS add-ons with a 3rd party developer catalog (it was handed out at Siggraph).

Thanks for the info. Don't worry about a 6 month delay, it sounds as though everyone will be knee-deep in r3 at least that long. Could you give me some info on contacting this Chris Allis, or how to get that catalog? thanks Dan

Please send me one of the catalogs tool. I missed out on it at Autodesk University. Michele Bousquet Multi-CAD Magazine 47 Jasmine Crescent Shailer Park, QLD 4128 Australia We are having a big AutoCAD/3DS road show down here in a couple of weeks. Maybe you would like to send 20 or so and I can distribute them to the paying customers (ie. 3DS/Animator students). What say eh?

Twould be a pleasure to send the catalogs! I know that we received 30 of the catalogues to mail, about a month ago, and not all are left. I'll have to scrounge up the 20 for you. (If I can't get 20, I'll let you know. Probably I'll have to send in 2 lots.) Need in a couple of weeks, eh? Got it. Nik

The classes start on November 18. If I could have the catalogs by then that would be great. We miss out on a lot of things down here (no 3DS R3 yet, no contest announcements, etc.) so it will be a nice gesture to give these out. Michele
