#RTFM or sill Q?

I like to do some work while in Box Mode. But when loading a .3DS
file, one cannot change to Box Mode until the load and draw has
completed, unless I have not RTFM. I tried it and the keyboard entry
is just ignored until the draw operation has finished. Is there some
reason, other than thats the way it is, that the program could not
accept the change to Box Mode at any time? I know, get a faster
computer/video <g>. I have a 25 MHz dino (the Flintstone pet)
processor. It is 3DSr3.
Maybe in release 4.0! What I do is simply press the ESC key many
times. This abouts the redrawing of the geometry. Then pressing Alt-B
redraws the entire screen in box mode.
I usually go into box mode _before_ loading the file. But as RobertS
said, you can skip the redraws but hitting the ESC key till they
stop. PS: I would also recommend getting Vibrant's Liquid Speed
driver when it ships (within weeks, now). It DOUBLES the redraw
speed inside of R3.

While playing with the net rendering speed thing and QEMM I also observed that
my screen redraws speed up as my base memory is increased. Any comments on
this?
It just sounds like another mystery of life, regarding how Phar Lap, DOS, and
QEMM work (or try to work) together.

Suggested price? It sounds like this is something we ALL need.
Love R3.
I'm not sure exactly how much they're charging, but you can call them for info
at 800/r37/1711.

I think liquid speed costs @ $99 if you order now and have R3.

Are you *sure* about the $99 price on LSpeed for R3 owners?!?!?
DT
Positive. I ordered it a couple of weeks ago. It's supposed to ship Nov. 1.

Mike,
PMJI, just thought I'd jump on this one. I'm not sure what the SRP of Liquid
Speed will be but I can say that it works just like Gary says. I'm beta testing
it and it's fantastic. It's averaging about 50% faster redraws. Makes a hell of
a difference on large meshes. I'll post some more info when I can.

Thanks, I'll definitely get it. Never thought I'd be doing large
meshes but now that I can single frame (and am not concerned about
*FLC size) they seem to be growing all the time. 50% faster would be
real nice (Lord grant me patience and I want it now!).
I'll agree, Dave. I'm also a beta site and find Liquid Speed to be
a _true_ enhancement, perhaps beyond 50% …
Works even better with the Diamond Viper VLB I installed Sunday.
In a word … wow.
