#GVP boot68000

I am running a GVP GForce 030 40 mhz board.. with hd controller and 4 megs 32
bit ram. My question is.. How do I run gvp boot68000 and go into pal mode at
the same time? If I run degrader to get pal, when it reboots, I get the 030
back.. I want to stay in 68000 and be able to get pal. Is there a way to get
gvp boot68000 to last on more than one reset?
Unfortunately no. The BOOT68000 option sets a register to indicate the machine
should reset into 68000 mode, and once in 68000 mode, there is no access to the
accelerator's register to set it again.
There is a jumper that will force the accelerator to "stay out of the system"
and creative users have attached a toggle switch to this jumper allowing them
to turn the accelerator on/off with the flip of a switch, and it lasts through
any number of reboots (or power up/down cycles).
Ok, great, sounds like an easy task.. so I could solder a wire, or
clip a wire to the two posts involved in the jumper, and toggle
that..?? Which is the jumper, and what type of switch do you
recommend?

You could do all of the above. I've most commonly seen a standard
ON/OFF toggle switch with a length of wire ending in an actual jumper
block. You merely 'install' the jumper on the two jumper pins and
run the switch out the back of the machine.

I'd don't have the jumper charts handy for your accelerator, but I believe the
manual will identify the jumper as "68030/68000 Mode".
Ok, does my machine need to be off in order to flip the switch? or what is the
safest way to be switching it on and off?
Your machine will reboot (or Guru) when the switch is flipped, so you can turn
it at any time…
Ok, this is really starting to sound interesting.. where would one find a
switchable jumper block? I have searched Dalco, Radio Shack, CompuUSA, etc..
Also, does this just disable the 030, or the whole board like GVPCpuCtrl

There is no way to remain in 68000 mode after booting. If you really REALLY
need to remain in 68000 mode, then change the jumper on the accelerator that
disables the board completely. It sounds like you're trying to run a game…
(IMHO, forget the game. Why spend all that cash on an accelerator just to turn
it off?)
