Imagine 3.0 Picture

Gang,
Here is a quick pick showing a few new textures and some of
those particle things floating in the air, also you will see the use
of a new technique called LATTICE. Note on the bottom of the font.
These fonts werw created in the new FONT editor.
This is a ILBM 24 bit picture.
It is in this section under
DLION.LZH
This is the first of many to come, mostly from you I hope.
Mike
HI,
I my be wrong by I thought .LZH files are for the Amiga and I
have a PC. If I am wrong will someone please tell me where I can
get a program to decompress this.I am looking forward to 3.0.
Keep up the good work.
Thanks,

Jim, I believe you can go over to IBMCOM and download LHA213, the pc
version of LHarc. BTW, Mike's pic is IFF/ILBM. I had a problem
finding a PC conversion program that'll read 24-bit IFFs. –Rick
Rodriguez
Rick,
Thanks. I'll look into it.
Jim
I believe that PKUnzip or one of it's associated programs will convert LHarc
files. BTW did you find a conversion program? If not maybe Mike could upload
a TGA or PCX version.
Limey
John:
PMJI, but there is no need for Impulse to upload a TGA or PCX.
Graphics Workshop for Windows or DOS is a great shareware program that will
read IFF and LBM files. It will also convert between them and many other
formats. (The windows version is better)
I downloaded the compressed DLION file and uncompressed it using the freeware
LHARC, I think PKUnzip will work to. I then changed its extension to IFF and
viewed it in Windows at 800 X 600 and 32,000 colours using Graphics Workshop.
The picture is neat and the particles look great.
I tried the same thing, Michael, but I thought GW couldn't read 24-bit
IFF's. I just got a mangled image until I took it over to the Amiga
to look at it. –Rick Rodriguez
I've got Graphics Workshop for Windows version 1.1 and it works fine
on 24 bit LBM and IFF files. But, you are right, I tried my DOS
version (which is at least a year old) and it won't view the file.
Rick,
GWS can read 24bit IFF files, but can't write them. The author of GWS said that
he doesn't have a complete specs of 24bit IFF.

Thanks, I'll give it a try. Do you know where I might find Graphics Workshop?
Limey
Graphic Workshop for Windows can be found in GO GRAPHSUP.
The file is GWS-WIN.ZIP.
Also, on another topic, you'll find that PLAY80.ZIP (in the ASOFT forum, I
think) is a small and efficient flc player.
And, while I'm opening my mouth to let my belly rumble, there is a utility
called KUTL12.ZIP which has a small screensaver program for Windows. The
program is called SCRSHOW.EXE and it uses your very own flc and fli files as a
screensaver. It works great with flying logos.
I think you will find KUTL12.ZIP in the ASOFT forum or one of the graphic
support forums.
Just ignore me if you're not interested in this stuff or if you know it
already.
Michael.
Thanks, I think I'll download that stuff. Sounds interesting,
Limey
Miie,
mucho thanks for the picture; for us parched Imagine 3.0 wannabees, it hits
the spots in these trying times. May I suggest you also upload JPEG versions in
the future? I JPEGged your image before passing it on to our local 3-D BBS (416
236-9828, by the way) and it melted down to 36K. And I was being mellow on
compression! 36K when on Compu$erve sure beats 300K.
