Is there anyway in Video Post procesing to adjust the input in such away that the image is higher or lower in relation to the other images. Can I do something similar to the way a CEL works in ANI PRO? Move its position around. Judy

Judy: Sure there is! Just render itat 32 bit whereever you want it to move, and composite it in. Are you using R2 or R3? Greg Pyros

I am using R2 — I hope to have R3 by next week end. How does rendering it at 32 bit make it easy to move?

Just thought I'd jump in for Greg. What he meant by rendering it at 32 bit was that you'd have the Alpha channel to work with. Using the alpha channel you can composite the image over any other image with perfectly antialiased edges – thus allowing you to move it around. Hope that clears it up for you.

Thanks — I didn't make the connection. Still very new at the stuff. Judy

Judy: >> How does rendering it at 32 bit make it easy to move? It doesn't make it easier to move, just makes the edges blend in perfectly with the background when it does! Look into alpha in the manuals for detailed info.

Judy, there's no automated way to do this, but in r3 you can specify the position of the image (with x,y co-ordinates). If you wanted to have it change positions over time it would be tedious because you'd have to create a seperate entry for each move. There's no automated way of moving the image over time along a path, or in a direction like there is in animator pro with a cel. The best way to do that would be to apply the image to a rectangle in 3ds and fly it around in the keyframer against a black background, with alpha channel on. You could then composite the sequence of .tga files over your other images and use only one entry. I hope this makes sense.

Yes it makes sense, and I will give it a try. I am only trying to render a simple still image. 3D Studio does a better job of combining palettes than does ANI PRO. Mostly I have been doing my compositing in Ani Pro — but this particular image is giving me palette problems.
