A/B Roll Editor

John,
Welcome to the Amiga forums. I have heard many good things of SCALA
products and look forward to your comments on the forum. Speaking of
comments, I have heard that Scala is developing a Control-L/Infrared
controlled A/B roll editing software for use with Scala multimedia
products. Can you comment on this at all? I would be very very
interested in such a product.
Tom
Yes indeed we are working on a hardware project called Scala Echo EE100. It has
a Control-L (mini-jack) connector and a send/receive infrared connector. An EX
Module (Expansion Module for Scala MultiMedia) will allow you to edit (cuts
only) and insert Scala presentation graphics into your productions. Of course,
the infrared feature of EE100 will allow you to make it learn any infrared
device (eg. Laserdisc Players, Compact Disc Players, TVs, VCRs, etc.). If
anyone is interested in the Scala Echo EE100, drop me a note at the address
below and I will be happy to send you a fact sheet:

John,
Thanks very much for the info on the Scala Echo EE100. I'll be sending
you a note requesting a fact sheet. Any chance that it wil ultimately be
upgraded to handle A/B roll editing?
Tom
AB Roll editing will be difficult with the typical video equipment
involved. Frame accuracy would be difficult. However, we are
looking at hybrids of the EE100 technology. I'll keep you posted.
Sincerely,
