FYI – Viewpoint has released a CD for 3DS of their entire collection
of meshes. Its got a graphical interface so you can see a wire frame
rendition of each mesh. To order you click on the mesh you want, call
up Viewpoint, they take your charge card, and give you a code which
you enter and the mesh is downloaded from the CD into your mesh
directory. Pretty cool. -JE
Do you have the CD? They were showing it off at Siggraph, and took
names for everyone that was using 3DS. They said they would ship in a
week or two, but we still haven't gotten one. Maybe I should call
them up.
The CD's are shipping now … I picked one up at AdeskU. It's quite
nice, really. A GUI to point at catagorized mesh sets with a single
wireframe view of individual models.
Call them at 1.800.DATASET (328.2738). I'm sure they'll send one
right away.
Thanks for the info, I'm extremely bummed …. we're probably one of
the few 3DS based companies who actually buys thousands of dollars
worth of their stuff every year and they lossed us in the shuffle I

catalog … you should have my card by now. Nice fonts on the CD, as

You're on. The list will go off to Viewpoint this week, after I call
my "groupies" here in S. Wisconsin. Great mag, BTW. Got my first one

Thanks! I understand over 1200 copies of the magazine were
distributed at Autodesk University. I hope to get a lot of

Gee, Paul….maybe you scared em' off with all that anti-dealer &
anti-promotional talk. I know I've got this great urge to ask you why
I still haven't gotten a response from the Anim8 postcard I filled
out and sent in but that would require a crassly commercial response
on your part. < G R & D > Murph'
Without any sales talk, all of the brochures regarding fonts go out in
lots of 500, if you haven't gotten yours yet, be patient, Adesk has
only been shipping R3 for a couple of weeks, and snail mail takes a
while. Additionally you'll become extremely aware shortly why it
takes us a while to do the turnaround.
Hopefully Viewpoint hasn't decided to take me off their mailing list.
It would cost them a little bit of money. We're a fairly big buyer.
On the other hand, we've had a Cyberware digitizer for about 45 days
now so, we can always make our own. 🙂
PMJI, But do you think you could include me in the ist for ViewPoint
so that I too can get a CD with thir demo meshes? I appreciate it:
