This is probably a dumb question, but …
I bought a used Amiga 3000 a few years ago, and as part of the deal, got
digiview 4.0 with it. I thought I should be able to use my camcorder as the
camera, realizing the images will only come out black and white. No matter
what I do, when I select Digitize from the digiview menu, it always says "No
Video Input". Anybody have any ideas. I have the audio/video out from the
camcorder connected to the video in on the digiview digitizer.
Any help would be appreciated.

Not sure what you mean by "I have the Audio/video out from CC connencted
to video in on Digiveiw"
A single cable from your camcorders composite video jack should work. No
need to hook up audio at all. Digiveiw wont take s-video.

I do have a single cable that connects to the composite video jack on the CC,
but it has two rca jacks at the other end, one for audio, one for video. I
plug the video into the digiview, and just leave the audio hanging there. The
instructions describe this scenario exactly, so I don't think it's a problem
with the jack. I was hoping that I was missing something else.

Have you tried another cable? Does the camcorder do a good still picture?
Perhaps you should try it from a VCR. Do you have a color splitter? if you
don't, you'll only get BW.
Wait a second, It's been a while since I've used Digiview. Since the
Toaster came out :^)
Are you using the filter wheel and all to get images from a live feed, or
from pre recorded video?
Hook a monitor to your source to make sure your getting video out to the
Digiview like you think you are. May take a special setup on the
camcorder.

I've tried hooking the Camcorder to a TV just to make sure I'm getting video
out. I am. I'm not using the color wheel or a splitter so I realize I'll only
get black and white, but at this point I'll take anything. It is entirely
possible that the Digiview unit doesn't work. I was hoping someone would tell
me I was missing some obvious step. If not, my next attempt will be to find
someone that has a working Digiview, and have he or she try mine.
Believe me, if I could afford a toaster, I wouldn't be messing around with
Digiview either.

used–that I'd be interested in parting with.

Even if it's hooked up, your video source must be on for it to register.
However, my VCR also caused similar messages when hooked up also… it
would be right in the middle of digitizing and the NO VIDEO requester
would pop up.

I have the camera on, and it still doesn't work. When you use you're VCR, does
it recognize the video input initially, and then give you the "No video"
message in the middle? If so, that's one step farther than I've gotten. Could
you tell me how you have you're VCR/digitizer set up (very specific, if you
don't mind, so I can duplicate it).

Lessee….
Video out on the VCR to the input of the D/V. Pretty simple, but I'm
running a poorly shielded cable from the VCR to the D/V over about 8-10
feet of living room. (That could be _MY_ problem…) It starts
digitizing and and random points it will abort with the NO SIGNAL PRESENT
requester.
To help, if your using a 1084 monitor, run a splitter from your d/v to the
video in on your monitor, and flip the switch on the front to check it….
that should tell you what the DV is getting, or not getting. There may be
something stopping your video from reaching the unit. Start at the end
and work backwards until you find the problem…

What could help, is to switch off every accelerator thing that you have. I
know that Digiview has sync-problems with fast Amiga's. Try out a simple A1200
to see if that works
