Anyone know the deal with Centuar with respect to Opalvision. I can understand
the delays involved (Newtek had delays with th Toaster) but I didn't follow
that as closely as I'm following this one because I didn't have my Amiga yet. I
just have felt that they haven't been supporting the current users very well.
About a year ago they were selling the main board for $700 and giving coupons
for $300 off the list for the Video Processor and Video Suite. At that time
they were saying each were going to list for about $999. Then when they finally
start ads for orders they put the price at $1299, with a so called limited time
offer of $300 off that price. When you try contacting them most of the time you
get voice mail which wouldn't be too bad if they would just return the call. I
sent my Opal Paint 2.0 disks in for updating. Although I neglected to put my
return address inside the envelope, I called them and gave my info and the
person I spoke with said he'd give it to the person handling that. A week or
more goes by and nothing. I call back and the disk with the information is
still sitting on the guy's desk. These a just a few things making me a little
crazy. Anyone else having fun trying to communicate with them?
I get all my OpalPaint updates from their BBS. They have an employee here
on CIS his number is 75662,3313, his name is Martin Boyd. If you have the
coupon you will get it for $695., but there was a deadline that has passed
for sending it in, they may have extended it. From what I've heard, the
dealers have a demo unit in stock so it must be finished for the most
part. From what I've read from people that have seen it working, it will
be worth the wait. I'm waiting for mine.
