3DS Release 3.5???
14 messages in this thread
Gary,
I was just looking at a new book called 3DS Special Effects. In it, some of the
tutorials call for 3DS 3.5 or later. Is there an incremental release somewhere
in the libs, or does it cost a nominal fee.
Thanks, Mike 🙂
Hi Mike,
<< In it, some of the tutorials call for 3DS 3.5 or later…>>
I wonder if they mean 3DS 4.0. Which tutorial/pg number?

Dont' remember. Definately said 3ds 3.5 of later though.
I think it was the one with the ice cubes in a glass??

You'll need release 4. There was some confusion with version numbers while we
were writing the book.
Martin,
Shouldn't be a problem. I will hopefully give myself 3DSR4 as a belated
Christmas gift.
On a side note:
I am looking to change jobs within this year so I can do 3DS related work on a
full time basis. (Currently I am a CAD manager but want to get into the
animation/multimedia end of the biz). If you know of anybody on the east coast
that may be looking for a person with LOTS of knowledge with ACAD and an
obsessive desire to be one of the best 3DS aniamtors around, let me know.
Thanks, Mike

Good idea. I think the upgrade is worthwhile.

I don't know anyone who's looking, but the way this business is growing I don't
think you'll have any trouble finding work. It's booming here on the West
Coast.

Yeh, I know. Now if I could only convince my wife to sell our new house and
move there. Ahhhhh, to dream <g>
Thanks, Mike
Mike,

might not be necessary. The east coast is probably experiencing the same boom
in 3d applications.

If you know of *ANYBODY* who is looking for an experienced AutoCAD user and a
person who is dying to get into 3DSTUDIO work on the east coast, please let me
know.
I am just wasting away at my current job.

Robert (Bob) Ritger might know somebody. He's active in that area at a large
architectural firm.

What is the name of the firm. I work with alot of architects at my current job.
Maybe I know the place. If not any help you could give would be appreciated.

Where are you on the East Coast? I know of strong Users' Groups up and down
the coast. They would be a great place to start. I am helping Lee Steel start
a Connecticut group.

David,
I live in Pennsylvania.
-Mike
Dave, I just saw the message about a user group on 3D Studio in Connecticut. Please send me INFO about joining ASAP.
Thanks, look forward to hearing from you
Eric.
