#WB Startup Pic Utility
5 messages in this thread
A little while ago, I thought I saw a file in AmigaUser that provided a
randomly selected WB backdrop file upon startup. I can't find it now. I
remember that it was uploaded in August 1994 and that the name started
with "WBP". Can anyone give me help finding it?

Ernie,
There is "MAGSEL.LHA" in AmigaUser that will do the job for you, but you
need MUI to make it work. I use it on my A3000 with OS3.1 with no
problems. It works with WBPattern in OS3.1. There is also
"BACKDROPS20.LHA" which works nicely with NickPrefs in OS2.x and WBPattern
in OS3.1. But MAGSEL.LHA is a little more user friendly.

There are 4 files that start with WBP. Go into any library and type
BRO WBP* ALL
and they will be displayed to you.

I'm using AutoPilot (you may be familiar with it :), so I was hoping to be
able to get the information without having to go interactive with CIS. I
had the files in my AmigaUser.lst file. But every time I tried to
download one of them, CIS said the file did not exist. So I deleted my
AmigaUser.lst file, made a new one going back to 28 March 94. I still
can't find the files. Any hints?

Then go into the Download requester, hit the Find gadget, select all the
libraries, in the Filename gadget type in WBP then hit the Ok gadget. The 4
files will be displayed.
Do note that as the New Flash warned for weeks and messages left in the Forum
Business section stated last week, the message sections and libraries have been
moved around. Unless you have updated your catalog in the last few days the
files you are looking for are likely not to be where AutoPilot thinks they are.
