I called Maple Waterloo Software to ask about the progress of Release 3 of
Maple V. The man told me it is scheduled now for November release. He went
on to tell me that future support of Amiga would be dependent on how the
CBM situation works itself out, which I can understand.
But then he starts to tell me about how it looks like HP or some really
off the wall company, whose name escapes me, is about to take over the
Amiga. Talk about out of touch. I gave him an update so that he might
sound more credible to the next informed Amigan he talks to.
One of the reasons I keep paying for CIS, even though I can ill afford it
and even though have full access to internet free and can and do use email
and "news" there, is that the quality of information concerning the Amiga
is so high here.

did Maple Waterloo give you any idea on the upgrade cost?

I was told last year that, due to them not releasing Release 2 for
Amiga, that we would get the upgrade for free. When I talked to the man
(Jose Korpus) a week or two ago that he "thought" we would still be
getting the free upgrade. Since I was personally promised it free, I will
be upset if they renig.

I did wonder where the heck release 2 went, but since it basically
works, I wasn't complaining. All of my problems are in the plotting area,
and I don't use that much any more. It'd be nice if it were free, but
I'll hold my breath (and my VISA ;-).
