#Help: A1500 Keyboard

I know he has tried to repair it himself but can't find any UK-based companies
that will repair it. Why? Do you know of any companies based external to the UK
that will repair this type of keyboard? I'm sure my fried would be most
interested.

No, I don't know of any company that could do the repair. There may be one or
more, but I have no knowledge of who they might be.. I have been trying to do
some repairs on A1000, A2000, and A3000 keyboards for folks, and so far have
been successful.
It really depends on the nature of the failure. If one of the electronic
modules has failed, then being able to analyze it might be a bit difficult,
but replacing one that has failed and is identified is no problem. Most of the
failures I've dealt with so far have been individual contact failures, or
broken key mechanisms. A "dead" one is on the way now from California. We'll
see what that is like to analyze.
Anyway, I offer my services free. I ask to have the shipping paid for, and
parts as well if that is what it takes and I can get them. I am just a private
individual who likes to fix things, and has a reasonably well equiped shop in
which to work. If your friend has had no luck, is out of ideas and has a
keyboard that won't work, there's not much to loose. I would be glad to try.
