#Amiga mouse as DOS mouse
6 messages in this thread
I hope I haven't missed the beginning of this thread so that I don't know
what I'm talking about, BUT… I have been able to use my Amiga mouse with
both my old 2088 bridgeboard and the 2286 BB. I start, in order, PCDisk,
Amouse and PC Color from the Amiga side, and then amouse from the PC side,
either once it has booted or in the autoexec.bat. Then the <Left-Amiga-P>
incantation and voila! PC mouse! About the only thing I have used it for is
Turbo Pascal, but it does work for that OK.

You have an AMOUSE on the Amiga side? Hmmm. All I've got is MouseMouseServ in
PC/Services. Maybe that's my problem…

Sounds like old Janus software. I don't know what Janus 2.x is like, but the
version that came with my 2088 & my 2286 both have an AMouse program on the
Amiga side. (Circa 1989, I think.)
Hi Pat,
I started this whole thing…
I bought an used Sidecar PC XT for my A1000 and want to use my Amiga mouse on
PC side. So far, people have told me to run AMouse.. which I don't have.
When I bought the sidecar, I got a C= Workbench V1.2 for A1060 (Sidecar) /
A2000 (I guess thats the same you got with your A2088), two 5/14" PC Disks with
DOS 3.? and a "System Disk". On the Dos Disk, there are regualr DOS commands
plus commands like ARead, AWrite and so on. I guess, thats where "AMouse" is
supposed to be on….?
To make a short story long, I am missing AMouse or can not find it. I would
call C= but… When I talked to my C= dealer I had to start explaining what a
sidecar and an A1000 is…
The person I bought the sidecar from has no idea…
Can you help me?
Frank
There was an update to the PC software, and I think you need it in order
to get Amouse. I don't know where you'd find it now, though.

What I got with both the 2088 and the 2286 was 3 5.25" IBM-format 360K
floppies, with MS-DOS 3.3 and the Janus software for the BB, and an
Amiga-formatted 880K 3.25" diskette with the Amiga side software. See if you
can find someone with one of these BBs near you & try out this software.
Better yet, find someone who will sell you one of these BBs cheap. (I've seen
the 2088 advertised as cheap as $20 or so.) Good Luck!
