#MediaStudio offer???

Does anyone know anything about MediaStudio from ULead Systems? Specifically,
I'm interested in video editting capabilities in comparison to what Razor and
Adobe Premiere/PC offer.
As a registered Photostyler user I've been offered a cheapo, intro deal on it.

I am using MediaStudio, but unfortunately I can not compare the capabilities of
the Video Editor module with the Razor or Premiere; sorry. I'd hop on the offer
and try it out then contact the folks at U-Lead for a refund if you decide it
isn't your cup of tea. In the past, I have found them very supportive and
customer-satisfaction oriented. Good Luck!

Thanks for the info.
I'd thought about trying MediaStudio on a trial basis, but Razor seems to be
causing quite a fuss and I've heard of some interesting bundles with that and
other programs I'm interested in. For example Kai Power Tools and Razor.
MediaStudio also sounds like it has a lot of stuff I'm not interested in.

I do a lot of still-image slide-show type of presentations and MediaStudio's
Album module and ImageEditor module are the work horses. I am interested in
developing (no pun intended) true video editing services so I would appreciate
it if you keep me posted on your progress.

Well, in that case, allow me to ask you a question: A client is looking for an
image database, where he can have a bunch (1,000+) images, type in some key
words for each, and have that image recalled. (Easy so far!)
Then he wants to be able to zoom in on the image (full screen preferred) to
show some detail, then go back to the database. (a little harder to do)
What program would you recommend for this? TIA!

MediaStudio 1.0 will accomplish the tasks that your client has in mind.
Specifically, the ALBUM module can collect up to 65,000 "slides" of images and
each of these slides can be tagged with keywords to facilitate search queries.
To view the contents of a file the operator simply double clicks on the slide
image and the ALBUM module launches the VIEWER module.
U-Lead Systems also has a product out called ImagePals 2.0a and this software
also has an ALBUM module however the one that ships with MediaStudio is
slightly better.
These ALBUM modules also support hard-copy output of image files and I use
MediaStudio's version to print images with my FARGO dye-sub printer.
Both MediaStudio and ImagePals are Windows based software packages.

I think I'll be going the Razor or Premiere routes. Most likely Razor. No
hurry, though, because the PAR won't make .avi files yet.

I'm not working on anything display-worthy at the moment, but prior samples of
my work can be found in the libraries here and on the 3ds Siggraph '93 and '94

What kind of work are you interested in seeing (or doing)?

I am not selective when it comes to viewing computer animation; I find that a
certain amount of inspiration is coupled with the enjoyment of seeing something
new as well as a sense of awe and deep appreciation of what the artist had to
go through to produce the images.
Presently, I am swamped with a 3D modeling project for some department stores
on the east coast and this is limited to still images and perhaps a slide show
presentation via PC. The project has a very short lead time and that may not
leave enough time for a walk-through on the entire store.
I will keep a look out for some of your images.
