I thought about both ways of spelling it, but ain't educated enough.
I've had an OED on my Christmas list for few years, but one never has
arrived. The fact that I want the full-sized edition rather than the
two-volume set with magnifying glass probably hasn't helped…

The second edition of the OED, all twenty volumes of it, is now available
on ONE cd-rom. It will run on the PC or the Mac. It's on my wish list, but
I want the books as well! (I have the full, 17 volume first edition)

I was under the impression that they'd released one CD ROM and were going
to update it. That was a while ago, so maybe they are on the second CD
ROM.
To my knowledge, it doesn't come with Amiga or Sparc software, so it won't
work with one of my desk machines.
Besides, if I had it on CD-ROM, I might start looking up a word one day
and not come back out for weeks.

I believe it is the second CD ROM, and yes, It is only for the MSDOS or
Mac. It sells in the U.K. for around 500 pounds, as against about 1700
pounds for the books!
